On 28 and 29 April 2014, EUROSINT Forum & CEIS-European Office organised, at the premises of ATOS in Madrid, the fifth workshop in the framework of the FP7 RECOBIA project (Reduction of Cognitive Biases in Intelligence Analysis). This workshop was attended by more than fifteen intelligence professionals representing National and European Intelligence Agencies.
The objective of this workshop was to devise solutions for cognitive biases impacting intelligence activities.
During this workshop, participants were invited to discuss, debate, comment and validate the updated RECOBIA scenario as well as the updated specific intelligence situations, presented by CEIS. A first draft of the web-based final deliverable of the project, RECOPEDIA, was introduced by ATOS. Graz University of Technology (TUG) then invited end-users to provide feedback. Finally, CEIS presented the underlying psychological mechanisms of cognitive biases and introduced the discussion on possible solutions.
