Event venue:
ATOS, Madrid, Spain
Event date(s):

On 13 and 14 November 2013, EUROSINT Forum & CEIS-European Office organized, at the premises of ATOS in Madrid, the fourth workshop in the framework of the FP7 RECOBIA project (Reduction of Cognitive Biases in Intelligence Analysis). This workshop was attended by more than twenty intelligence professionals representing National and European Intelligence Agencies.
The objective of this workshop was to link specific intelligence situations with the related cognitive biases and to present a scenario and specific situations that will illustrate them.
During this workshop, participants were invited to discuss, debate, comment and validate the RECOBIA scenario and the specific intelligence situations, presented by CEIS. A selective exposure experiment as an experimental paradigm and de-biasing strategy of confirmation bias was held by Graz University of Technology (TUG) and Hawk Associates Ltd. Finally, IT-induced cognitive biases were introduced during this workshop by Zanasi & Partners.
Proceedings and presentations of this workshop with be shortly available on the RECOBIA website, for registered users only.
